The preserving of Riekkola was started in 1972. This beautiful area is located only 2 km south of Haparanda centre.

In the summer you can walk or run in nature trails and in winter enjoy skiing. Along the 3,5 km route, there are info signs (in Swedish, Finnish and English) and sightseeing places.
