PIOT – See the city in a new light

Published:

PIOT brings light to the darkest time of the year on November 10-11, 2023

PIOT valofestivaali

The purpose of PIOT is to showcase and see the city in a new light, together. To peek into the other side of everyday life. To bring light to the darkest time of the year. The event includes immersive experiences and visible artworks that elevate participants above the routines of daily life. Through light, we celebrate our Tornio, our history, present, and future.

The program features light art, dance, music, light hoop art, a light procession, a restaurant area, and much more. Free admission.

Additionally, there is the “Valopilkku” side program from November 9th to 12th, and light installations throughout the city.

PIOT, a cross-disciplinary light festival, is a biennial event held every two years. In the intervening years, we celebrate the opening of the Tornio light season.
