Experience the year changing twice under the sparkling winter sky at Victoria Square!
The New Year is celebrated in a traditional way in HaparandaTornio, when fireworks spark the New Year for both Finland and Sweden. The event will take place on the border of two countries, in two time zones, together to celebrate the New Year. Victoria Square will once again be transformed into a big New Year’s outdoor party on New Year’s Eve.

BAG CHECK AT THE ENTRANCES
This year there are three entrances to the area – from Sweden, Finland and through Rajalla Shopping center.
Only small bags with a maximum size of 40X40X20 may be brought into the area, i.e. no backpacks or shopping bags are allowed. Exceptions to this rule are those who must take essential medical or medical supplies with them.
There is no luggage storage in the area. There is a bag check at the entrance gates, so we kindly ask you to arrive early so that you can enjoy the event on time.
Please note that bringing fireworks into the area is strictly prohibited.
