Full-Day Trip to Sandskär – Haparanda Archipelago National Park
Haparanda Skärgård National Park is the youngest national park in Norrbotten and the only one located in the archipelago of the region. Established in 1995, the park covers approximately 6,000 hectares and consists of several islands, with Sandskär being the largest.
Here, you’ll be greeted by vast sandy beaches, impressive sand dunes, and rich plant life alongside abundant birdlife. Sandskär is a unique destination for those who want to experience the archipelago in its most pristine and natural state.
With Innala Tours, you can book a full-day trip to Sandskär. The tour includes round-trip boat transport from the harbour in Nikkala, located about 35 kilometres from the national park. Once there, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the island at your own pace.

Stay Overnight on Sandskär
If you’d like to extend your visit, cabins are available for rent on Sandskär. The cabins are equipped with two bunk beds (four beds in total), duvets and pillows, a gas stove and gas refrigerator, a wood-burning stove, kitchen utensils, and cleaning equipment.
Staying overnight in the national park offers a unique opportunity to experience the archipelago both in daylight and in the peaceful light of a summer evening.
