Osmo Palmu & Meri-Lap string quartet

Osmo Palmu will be the guest of the Meri-Lap String Quartet in Kemi and Tornio. The concert Sevillana – Afternoon in Spanish Colours will feature works by Federico Morena Torroba, Joaquin Turina, Enrique Granados, Manuel Ponce and Luigi Boccherini.

Osmo Palmu has been awarded prizes in numerous guitar competitions, including the F. Sor Competition in Rome, the Forum Gitarre in Vienna, the Leo Brouwer Competition in Tampere, and the K.V. Leino Guitar Competitions in 1993, 1995 and 2002. He has premiered compositions by Kirmo Lintinen, Jyrki Linjama, Lotta Wennäkoski, Kai Nieminen, Sami Klemola and Kimmo Kuokkala and has released four solo albums. His fifth album “Vieja Leyenda” will be released in February 2026.

Osmo Palmu is also known as a composer and arranger.

The concert will last approximately 90 minutes, including intermission.
