Can reality be choreographed? Can reality dictate choreography?
Ten dancers from Norrdans share the stage with ten locals. Together they form a unique ensemble that explores the concepts of mass and power.
The audience is a force in itself, with the capacity to support and destroy. In Crowds & Power, Martin Forsberg creates a choreographic field that straddles the line between masses of people and acts that demonstrate the dimensions of power. Interpersonal and shaped by the largest and the smallest.
Crowds & Power is designed by David Gehrt for set and costume design and the music is composed by Anna Sóley Tryggvadóttir. The work is framed by Mads Lindegaard’s lighting design. Crowds & Power is monumental and emotionally intimate.
Martin Forsberg is Norrdans’ artistic director and has previously choreographed works with Norrdans that deal with communication and staged authenticity, such as Doppelgänger and Proxy.
