The Animals (UK)- Farewell tour, Tornio, Finland

25.4.2026

Grand Hotel Mustaparta, Ballroom event hall

The legendary The Animals will arrive at the Grand Hotel Mustaparra Ballroom in Tornio in spring 2026.

The original line-up will include co-founder John Steel. Danny Handley, Barney Williams and Norman Helm will also play in the band.

“House of the Rising Sun”, “We Gotta Get Out of This Place”, “Don’t Let Me Be Understood”, “It´s My Life”, “I Put A Spell On You”, “Boom Boom” and “Bring It On Home To Me”. On this hit list, The Animals are undoubtedly one of the most influential bands in the world. Among its prominent fans is Bruce Springsteen.

In 1964, a wave of energetic rock and roll swept over the world’s youth, with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones – and of course The Animals, founded by John Steel and Eric Burdon – riding on its crest. The band got its name from its wild stage presence.

Although The Animals have since slowed down on stage, the band, soon to celebrate their 60th anniversary, are still going strong and the legend is growing. Recently, Classic Rock magazine included the band’s debut album in its “50 Albums That Built Blues Rock” list.

Consert Norrbotten Big Band feat. Sand & Hallander

25.5.2026 18:00 – 19:30 (SE)

Musiikkitalo Tornio, Etappitie 6, 95400 Tornio

Stripped-down and intimate. Filled with tension and emotion. This is what the audience can expect when Norrbotten Big Band meets the acclaimed pop duo Sand & Hallander. With trombonist Tilde Schweizer as arranger, it can only be a success.

The pop duo Sand & Hallander consists of Emmalisa Hallander and Nina Sand, who sing and perform their own original songs in Swedish, featuring witty lyrics and expressive melodies. Their debut album Älskar, älskar inte (2023) was highly praised by critics and reviewers, and they were compared, among others, to ABBA.

Nina Sand and Emmalisa Hallander found each other in 2015 through their shared sense of humor and love for The Beatles. Since then, they have been best friends and are passionate about writing songs together—often with a twinkle in their eye. New songs will be released in the summer of 2025, and in 2026 an exciting collaboration with Norrbotten Big Band awaits.
