The concert will feature deeply personal works by two great Czech composers. Smetana’s String Quartet From My Life is a moving musical autobiography, reflecting the joys and sorrows of life, including the composer’s deafness. Dvorak’s American Quartet was written in the summer of 1893 in Spillville, Iowa, combining Bohemian roots, American influences and nature-inspired tones.
